Psychological Biases That Silently Skew Your Results
Even well-written questions can produce misleading data if you are not aware of the cognitive biases that influence how people respond. These biases are well-documented in survey methodology research from Pew Research Center and affect every survey you send.
Acquiescence bias. Less educated and less informed respondents have a greater tendency to agree with agree-disagree statements, regardless of content. Instead of asking "Do you agree that our service is helpful?", offer a forced choice between alternative statements: "Which statement comes closer to your view: Our service is helpful / Our service needs improvement." This eliminates the default-to-agree pattern.
