Forsta Pricing in 2026: What It Actually Costs, Why There's No Rate Card, and a Transparent Alternative

Forsta doesn't publish a pricing page. Every path on forsta.com, and every third-party listing we checked, ends at "Speak with an expert" or "Contact Us."
So instead of quoting a rate card that doesn't exist, we pulled together everything that is actually documented: the one named tier G2 has on file, what real reviewers report paying and waiting for, and the acquisition that just changed who owns the product entirely. Then we compared it to Formbricks, an open feedback and experience management suite built around feedback management, feedback analytics, and workflows, with every price published.
I believe Forsta is the right call if:
- You're a professional market-research team that needs deep, code-customizable survey programming (Python/XML scripting, quota management, crosstabs)
- You run studies across retail, insurance, banking, hospitality, or another vertical where Forsta's industry-specific templates save real setup time
- You're comfortable with a fully sales-led buying process and don't need a number before the first call
- You can absorb the roadmap uncertainty that comes with buying a product mid-acquisition-integration into Qualtrics
It's a weaker fit if:
- You want any public number, even a rough one, to bring to a budget conversation
- You're a smaller team or a single-product-feedback use case rather than a full market-research operation
- You need self-hosting or strict data residency control, which nothing in Forsta's documentation offers
- You want one unified feedback platform instead of a market-research programming environment bolted onto a CX suite
Because Forsta is fully sales-gated, we've included a full comparison with Formbricks later in this breakdown, since it's the clearest example of what a transparently-priced feedback and experience management platform looks like next to a platform that publishes nothing at all.

Forsta Pricing at a Glance
| Tier | Price | Priced on |
|---|---|---|
| HX Essentials | Contact Us / Get Price | Custom quote, no public metric disclosed |
| Enterprise / custom configurations | Contact Us | Custom quote, for organizations needing capabilities beyond HX Essentials |
Source: g2.com/products/forsta/pricing, captured August 15, 2026. G2 states plainly: "Forsta offers a single pricing edition, with pricing available upon request. Costs are typically tailored specifically to the organization's needs."
Captured August 15, 2026 from forsta.com. Notice there's no "Pricing" link in the navigation at all.
There is no free trial and no free tier. Research.com's own review confirms the same finding independently: "There is no publicly available pricing information for Forsta software. Interested parties are advised to contact the vendor directly."
The One Named Tier: HX Essentials
HX Essentials is the only edition Forsta lists anywhere, and even that listing has no number attached. According to G2's pricing page, it's positioned as the on-ramp for "a best-in-class CX program that helps you understand the full story of your customer."
Here's what's actually bundled into it, per G2's pricing breakdown:
| Feature | Included in HX Essentials |
|---|---|
| Standard Surveys | Yes |
| Digital Feedback | Yes |
| Connectors | Yes |
| Hierarchy Management | Yes |
| Text Analytics | Yes |
| Studio Dashboard | Yes |
| ForstaGo Mobile App | Yes |
| Action Management | Yes |
| Frontline Innovation | Yes |
| Public price | Not disclosed |
| Free trial | Not offered |
Source: g2.com/products/forsta/pricing, last updated July 1, 2026 per G2's own timestamp.
| HX Essentials | |
|---|---|
| Pros | Cons |
| ✅ Bundles a genuinely broad feature set, not a stripped-down starter | ❌ Zero public price, not even a floor number |
| ✅ Hierarchy Management and Frontline Innovation are unusual inclusions at the entry tier | ❌ No free trial to test before committing to a sales process |
| ✅ ForstaGo mobile app included from the start | ❌ "Organizations seeking more advanced or enterprise-specific configurations" get routed to a second, equally undisclosed quote |
| ✅ Text Analytics included rather than upsold separately | ❌ G2 reviewers note reporting licenses and add-on features "can add up" beyond this tier |
The Bottom Line: HX Essentials looks feature-rich on paper, but "Essentials" doesn't mean "entry-level cheap." It means entry-level access to a quote you still can't see.

What Forsta Actually Does
Before getting into why nobody can quote a price, it's worth being clear on what you'd actually be buying. Forsta's own homepage positions the platform as "one AI-powered human experience platform," built on what it calls deep industry expertise across specific verticals.
Research and survey tooling. The core product bundles Forsta Survey Designer for flexible survey creation, SmartHub for centralized data and reporting management, Studio for configurable dashboards, Forsta Go for mobile surveys, and Frontline Innovation, a crowdsourced idea and challenge platform with pairwise ranking. Capterra's feature audit lists 37 tracked capabilities in total, including question branching, piping, response quotas, and offline response collection, the kind of depth aimed squarely at professional researchers rather than a lightweight feedback widget.
Forsta AI. Forsta markets a 75% reduction in analysis time through AI summaries and recommendations, and a 99.6% predictive accuracy claim for agentic AI understanding and preempting human behavior. Both figures are Forsta's own marketing claims rather than independently benchmarked numbers, so treat them as vendor-stated rather than verified.
Industry verticals. Forsta ships dedicated solutions for retail, insurance, banking and financial services, technology, restaurants, hotels and hospitality, automotive, entertainment, travel, and utilities. This vertical depth is a genuine differentiator for research teams working inside one of these specific industries.
Integrations. Capterra lists more than 20 third-party integrations, including Adobe Analytics, Adobe Experience Cloud, Tableau, Zendesk Suite, Zapier, Twilio, Google Translate, and Contentsquare, connecting Forsta's research output into a broader analytics and CX stack.
None of this changes the pricing picture. It just clarifies that Forsta's feature depth is real, aimed at a research-heavy buyer, and still comes with no number attached at any tier.
Why Forsta Doesn't Publish a Price
No Rate Card Anywhere in the Portfolio
- forsta.com's navigation has no pricing link; every call to action leads to "Speak with an expert"
- G2's pricing page confirms a single edition with pricing "available upon request"
- Research.com's independent review reaches the same conclusion: no publicly available pricing information exists
G2's Own Perceived Cost Score Is Maxed Out
- G2's Pricing Insights section, based on real user reviews, scores Forsta's Perceived Cost at $$$$$, the highest tier on its scale
- The same section reports a 3-month average time to implement and a 23-month average return on investment
- G2 also reports an average discount of 10% off whatever number a buyer eventually negotiates
Real Reviewers Describe a Nickel-and-Dime Pattern
- One Capterra reviewer, a Director of Programming in market research, wrote: "Every problem from them comes with a nickel and dime solution starting with 'you're on a shared server but if you want our enterprise software we can give you costs' and ends with 'if you'd like our custom solutions team to look into that, we can give you costs'"
- That same reviewer stated plainly: "I've found solutions at a 1/10th of the cost and works very very well"
- A separate G2 reviewer described cost and customization as feeling "heavy for smaller teams"
Third-Party Alternatives Content Confirms the Pattern Too
- Qualaroo's own Forsta alternatives roundup states directly: "I'm also not a fan of the company's policy to keep its pricing plans hidden"
- That same article opens by noting Forsta "may not be the ideal choice for you, especially if your company is looking for a simple and modern user feedback solution"
What Reviewers Say the Real Cost Looks Like
Forsta holds a 4.2 rating across 335 reviews on G2 and a 4.3 rating across 14 reviews on Capterra, where its Value for Money score sits at just 3.8 out of 5 across 11 ratings, the weakest of Capterra's tracked categories for the product.
| Forsta Reviews | |
|---|---|
| Pros | Cons |
| ✅ Robust feature set with deep Python/XML scripting for narrow research needs | ❌ Steep learning curve for advanced projects |
| ✅ Responsive, prompt support team, praised repeatedly | ❌ Cost and customization feel heavy for smaller teams |
| ✅ Strong for complex market research: crosstabs, quotas, advanced logic | ❌ Runs an older, locked-down version of Python requiring workarounds |
| ✅ Data reliability that beat a prior tool (Voxco) for one reviewer | ❌ Platform can feel "janky" on complex question types, with logic that's hard to test |
One Capterra reviewer titled their review "Big hidden cost in the time it'll take you to accomplish tasks that should be easier," and described the platform as "just annoyingly longer than it needs" for basic scripting functions, on top of being pushed toward "paid services to custom script features that're basic check boxes in other applications."
G2's AI-generated pricing FAQ adds a segmentation detail worth noting directly: enterprise and mid-market buyers in market research, insurance, healthcare, and professional services report extracting the most value, while G2 states plainly that "small businesses and freelancers often find the pricing of Forsta challenging to justify."
Here's what that pattern looks like in practice. A market-research agency evaluating Forsta in mid-2026 to replace an aging on-premise tool might reach the middle of procurement only to learn that Forsta was just absorbed into Qualtrics for $6.75 billion, with a sales contact unable to confirm whether Forsta's specific scripting environment will still exist in its current form two years from now. That's not a hypothetical pulled from nowhere, it's the exact combination of undisclosed pricing and fresh acquisition uncertainty that shows up across the reviews and analyst commentary cited throughout this breakdown.
The Qualtrics Acquisition and What It Means for Pricing
On May 18, 2026, Qualtrics completed its acquisition of Press Ganey Forsta for $6.75 billion, folding Forsta into Qualtrics' Experience Management portfolio. Forsta's own homepage now displays the acquisition banner, linking through to Qualtrics' announcement.
This matters for anyone pricing out Forsta today, not just as trivia. Forrester's own analysis of the deal states that Qualtrics will need to make "tough decisions about what to integrate or sunset," meaning Forsta's specific product line, and any pricing structure quoted today, is an open question two years out.
That uncertainty compounds the pricing opacity already documented above. A buyer evaluating Forsta today isn't just accepting a quote-only sales process, they're accepting it from a brand whose own product continuity is being actively decided inside a much larger company. Qualtrics itself has no public rate card for six of its seven other product lines either, a pattern documented in our own breakdown of Qualtrics pricing, so buyers should expect that same sales-gated model to extend to Forsta going forward.
Formbricks: An Open Feedback and Experience Management Suite
Formbricks isn't just a survey tool. It's an open source feedback and experience management suite built around three things: feedback management, feedback analytics, and workflows and integrations, all published transparently, all included on every tier rather than gated behind a sales call.
Captured August 15, 2026 from formbricks.com/pricing.
Feedback Management. Formbricks unifies website surveys, in-app surveys, link surveys, and branded email surveys under one platform and one price, instead of Forsta's separate market-research programming environment layered onto a broader CX suite.
Feedback Analytics. Every response flows into one place regardless of channel: follow individual feedback trails, zoom out to the aggregate picture, track partial and dropped-off responses, and segment by custom attributes.
Workflows and Integrations. Formbricks Workflows automate what happens after a response comes in. On the integration side, Formbricks connects to Salesforce, HubSpot, Slack, Google Sheets, and Notion through webhooks and a free, unrestricted API available on every tier, including the self-hosted Community Edition.
Formbricks Hobby Plan: Free Forever
| Feature | Details |
|---|---|
| Price | $0 |
| Workspaces | 1 |
| Responses | 250/month |
| API access | Full, including MCP |
| Hosting | Frankfurt (cloud) |
The Bottom Line: Where Forsta offers no free trial at all, Formbricks Hobby gives you a real, permanent free tier with the full API included from day one.
Formbricks Pro Plan: $74/month (billed annually) or $89/month (billed monthly)
| Feature | Details |
|---|---|
| Price | $74/month billed annually ($890/year), or $89/month billed month-to-month |
| Workspaces | 3 |
| Responses | 2,000/month |
| API access | Full, unrestricted |
| Billing | Monthly or annual, your choice |
The Bottom Line: Pro is a real, self-serve number you can see and budget against right now, something no Forsta tier offers at any price point.
Formbricks Scale Plan: $325/month (billed annually) or $390/month (billed monthly)
| Feature | Details |
|---|---|
| Price | $325/month billed annually ($3,900/year), or $390/month billed month-to-month |
| Workspaces | 5 |
| Responses | 5,000/month |
| API access | Full, unrestricted |
| Add-ons | Teams & access roles, quota management, two-factor authentication, spam protection |
The Bottom Line: Scale is the highest published tier. Above it, Formbricks offers custom Enterprise pricing with a published contact path, not a mandatory, unpriced sales gate before you see anything at all.
Formbricks Self-Hosting: Community Edition
The free, self-hosted Community Edition, licensed under AGPLv3, is where Formbricks diverges most sharply from both Forsta and its new parent company, Qualtrics:
- Data never leaves your infrastructure. No cloud dependency, no third party holding your feedback data.
- No response limits. Unlimited surveys, responses, and team members.
- No vendor lock-in. Even if you stop paying for Enterprise features, the Community Edition and your data remain accessible.
- Full API on self-hosted, too. The same unrestricted API available on every cloud tier.
Nothing in Forsta's documentation, or in Qualtrics' security documentation for that matter, mentions a self-hosted or customer-premises deployment path at any budget.
Forsta vs Formbricks: Side-by-Side Pricing
| Forsta | Formbricks | |
|---|---|---|
| Free tier | None, no free trial offered | Hobby: 250 responses/month, full API, hosted in Frankfurt |
| Cheapest tier with a public price | None, HX Essentials is quote-only | Pro: $74/month (annual) or $89/month (monthly), 2,000 responses/month |
| Mid tier | Not available self-serve, "Enterprise/custom configurations" also quote-only | Scale: $325/month (annual) or $390/month (monthly), 5,000 responses/month |
| Enterprise | Request Pricing, now inside Qualtrics' broader quote process | Custom pricing, published contact path |
| Feedback channels | Market-research survey programming, digital feedback, connectors | Website, in-app, link, and email surveys unified in one platform |
| Post-response automation | Action Management included in HX Essentials, scope beyond that unclear | Formbricks Workflows on the same platform, no separate product to buy |
| Self-hosting | Not offered anywhere in Forsta's documentation | Community Edition, self-hosted, free, AGPLv3 |
| Billing flexibility | Unknown, no public billing terms disclosed | Monthly or annual on every published tier |
| Ownership stability | Acquired by Qualtrics for $6.75B, completed May 18, 2026 | Independent company, self-directed roadmap |
Feature Value Breakdown
Pricing Transparency
Forsta's Approach: One named tier, zero public price. G2 confirms pricing is "available upon request" with no rate card, no calculator, and no free trial to test the waters first.
Formbricks' Approach: Every tier, Hobby through Scale, is priced and published on the site, with monthly and annual billing both available.
Value Verdict: Formbricks wins decisively. This isn't a subjective call, it's the difference between a published number and none at all.
Advanced Market-Research Scripting and Customization Depth
Forsta's Approach: Forsta supports deep Python/XML-level survey programming, quota management, and crosstabs for professional researchers running complex, multi-market studies.
Formbricks' Approach: Formbricks does not publish an equivalent code-level scripting depth for advanced market-research methodology.
Value Verdict: Forsta wins here clearly. If your team is running academic-style research programming rather than product or CX feedback collection, that depth is real and Formbricks doesn't claim to match it.
Roadmap and Vendor Continuity Certainty
Forsta's Approach: Forsta's recent $6.75B acquisition by Qualtrics creates genuine near-term roadmap uncertainty. Forrester's own analysis states Qualtrics will need to decide "what to integrate or sunset."
Formbricks' Approach: Formbricks is an independent company with a stable, self-directed product roadmap, not currently mid-acquisition.
Value Verdict: Formbricks wins on stability, though this reflects market-timing risk rather than a product-quality judgment against Forsta itself.
Feedback Management Breadth
Forsta's Approach: Forsta's strength is market-research survey programming layered with digital feedback, connectors, and hierarchy management, aimed at professional researchers rather than product teams.
Formbricks' Approach: Website, in-app, link, and email feedback collection live on one platform under one pricing structure, with analytics and Workflows built in.
Value Verdict: Formbricks wins for teams that need one unified product-feedback platform. Forsta wins for teams that specifically need research-grade survey programming, a different buyer entirely.
Who Should Actually Pay for Forsta
Forsta makes sense if you're running a professional market-research operation that needs code-customizable survey programming, quota management, and crosstab analysis, you value deep vertical expertise across retail, insurance, financial services, or hospitality, and you're comfortable entering a sales-led relationship with no number in hand, potentially now routed through Qualtrics.
It's a weaker fit if you want any public price to plan a budget conversation around, you need a lightweight product-feedback tool rather than a full research-programming environment, you need self-hosting or strict data residency control, or you're wary of committing to a platform whose own roadmap is being decided mid-acquisition.
Forsta's own reviewer base backs this segmentation up. G2's demographic data shows the strongest satisfaction among enterprise and mid-market teams already running structured research programs, while smaller teams and freelancers are the ones most likely to describe the pricing as prohibitive relative to what they need.
Forsta Pricing FAQ
Final Verdict
👍 Forsta is the right call if you're running genuine market-research programming, need Python/XML-level scripting, quota management, and crosstab analysis, and you have both the budget and the patience for a fully sales-led process with no number until late in the conversation. Reviewers consistently praise its depth for complex, multi-market studies, and its vertical-specific expertise across retail, insurance, financial services, and hospitality is real.
👉 Formbricks is the better fit if transparent pricing matters, you want to forecast your actual cost before ever talking to sales, and you need one unified feedback management platform, covering feedback management, feedback analytics, and workflows, rather than a market-research programming environment. Every tier is published, monthly and annual billing are both available, native integrations and Workflows come free on every plan, and the AGPLv3-licensed Community Edition gives you a self-hosted path that neither Forsta nor its new parent company, Qualtrics, currently offers.
The honest read: Forsta serves a genuinely different buyer, a professional research team, not a product or CX team looking for ongoing feedback infrastructure. But if you want to know what something costs before you pick up the phone, see Formbricks' current pricing here.
