Userpilot's own pricing page lists Starter at $299/month and Growth "from $849/month." Pull up G2's vendor-submitted pricing table for the same product and you'll see Starter "starting at $249.00" and Growth "starting at $799.00", a $50/month gap on Starter that neither page explains.
I pulled the live pricing page directly, cross-checked it against G2's listing, and used Vendr's negotiated-deal data as a third data point. Here's what Userpilot actually costs, where the numbers diverge, and how it compares to Formbricks, an open feedback and experience management suite.
I believe Userpilot is the right call if:
- You want one platform for no-code onboarding flows, product analytics, and in-app surveys without engineering involvement
- You're comfortable paying a $299+/month starting price for a bundled product-growth suite
- Session replay and mobile engagement as paid add-ons on top of Growth are acceptable to you
It's a weaker fit if:
- You want a forever-free entry point rather than a trial
- Deep, flexible survey logic and reporting are your primary need, not onboarding flows
- You need self-hosting or strict data residency
Because of that, I've included a full comparison with Formbricks later in this breakdown.

The Website-vs-G2 Pricing Gap, Explained
This is the part most "Userpilot pricing" searches miss. Userpilot's own pricing page lists Starter at $299/month and Growth "from $849/month." G2's vendor-submitted pricing widget for the same product lists Starter "starting at $249.00" and Growth "starting at $799.00", exactly $50/month less on both tiers.
Neither page labels the difference, but the most likely explanation is an annual-billing discount that isn't clearly flagged as such on one of the two pages. I'm reporting both figures here rather than picking one, and treating the website's $299/$849 monthly figures as the headline numbers since that's what a new visitor sees first on Userpilot's own site.
There's also no forever-free plan. The "Get Started Free" button on the Starter card leads to a trial signup, not a permanent $0 tier, confirmed by the absence of any $0 tier card on the live pricing page.

Starter Plan: $299/Month
Captured August 15, 2026 from userpilot.com/pricing.
| Feature | Details |
|---|---|
| Price | $299/month (G2 lists $249.00) |
| Monthly Active Users | Up to 2,000 |
| Core features | In-app user engagement, user segmentation and tracking, usage trend analysis, NPS survey |
| Starter Plan | |
|---|---|
| Pros | Cons |
| ✅ Bundles onboarding, basic analytics, and an NPS survey in one tier | ❌ $299/month starting price, no forever-free option |
| ✅ Segmentation and usage tracking included from entry tier | ❌ Session replay not included |
| ✅ No engineering needed to build in-app flows | ❌ 2,000 MAU cap before needing to upgrade |
The Bottom Line: Starter covers basic onboarding and one NPS survey, but it's priced well above most standalone survey tools' entry tiers.
Growth Plan: From $849/Month
| Feature | Details |
|---|---|
| Price | From $849/month (G2 lists $799.00) |
| Monthly Active Users | From 2,000 |
| Core features | Advanced product analytics, event autocapture, resource center and advanced in-app surveys, email engagement |
| Paid add-ons | Session replay, mobile engagement |
| Growth Plan | |
|---|---|
| Pros | Cons |
| ✅ Advanced in-app surveys and event autocapture | ❌ Nearly 3x the Starter price |
| ✅ Resource center and email engagement included | ❌ Session replay and mobile engagement cost extra, even at this tier |
| ✅ Deepest analytics tier below Enterprise | ❌ "From $849" means the real price can run higher depending on MAU |
The Bottom Line: Growth is where advanced surveys and analytics live, but session replay and mobile engagement remain paid add-ons rather than included features.
Enterprise Plan: Custom
| Feature | Details |
|---|---|
| Price | Custom, "Let's Talk" |
| Monthly Active Users | Not disclosed |
| Core features | Premium integrations, bulk data export/import, data warehouse sync, custom roles and permissions, SAML SSO and activity logs, security audit and compliance |
The Bottom Line: Enterprise adds the compliance and access-control layer larger organizations need, but like most top tiers in this category, pricing requires a sales conversation.
What Vendr's Negotiated Deal Data Shows
Vendr's marketplace listing for Userpilot, built from real buyer-submitted deal data rather than list price, gives a third data point beyond the website and G2 figures. It confirms Userpilot deals are negotiated on a per-account basis tied to MAU tier, consistent with the "from $849/month" framing on Userpilot's own Growth tier rather than a single fixed number.

Where Userpilot Pricing Falls Short
No Forever-Free Plan
- The cheapest plan starts at $299/month (or $249 per G2's listing)
- There's no permanent $0 tier, only a trial that leads into paid signup
Website and G2 Prices Don't Match
- Userpilot's own pricing page and G2's vendor-submitted pricing table show different numbers for the same tier names
- Neither page explains the $50/month gap on Starter or Growth
Session Replay and Mobile Engagement Cost Extra
- Even on the Growth tier, these capabilities are paid add-ons, not included outright
- Buyers expecting a fully-inclusive mid-tier plan may be surprised by the extra line items
No Self-Hosting Option
- No self-hosted or on-premise deployment found on Userpilot's site
- Enterprises requiring their own infrastructure or strict data residency have no path here
Reporting Flexibility Criticized by Some Reviewers
- G2 reviewers note a learning curve for advanced features and describe analytics/segmentation reporting as limited in some cases
- Teams needing deep cross-referencing of analytics variables may find the built-in reporting constraining
Formbricks: An Open Feedback and Experience Management Suite
Formbricks isn't an onboarding platform with surveys bundled in as one module among many. It's an open source feedback and experience management suite built around three things: feedback management, feedback analytics, and workflows and integrations, published transparently on every tier.
Feedback Management. Formbricks unifies website surveys, in-app surveys, link surveys, and branded email surveys as the core product, not a feature nested inside an onboarding tier. Where Userpilot's NPS survey lives inside Starter and "advanced in-app surveys" require the $849/month Growth tier, Formbricks includes full survey logic from the free Hobby tier.
Feedback Analytics. Every response flows into one dashboard. Teams can follow individual responses, zoom out for the aggregate view, track drop-off, and segment by custom attributes, without needing to jump tiers to unlock deeper reporting.
Workflows and Integrations. Formbricks Workflows automate what happens after a response comes in. Native integrations connect to Salesforce, HubSpot, Slack, Google Sheets, and Notion through webhooks and a free, unrestricted API available on every tier, including the self-hosted Community Edition, something Userpilot doesn't offer at any price.

Formbricks Hobby Plan: Free Forever
| Feature | Details |
|---|---|
| Price | $0 |
| Workspaces | 1 |
| Responses | 250/month (cloud) |
| API Access | Full, including MCP |
| Hosting | Frankfurt, Germany |
Unlike Userpilot's trial-only "Get Started Free" flow, Hobby is a permanent free tier with full survey logic and API access from day one.
| Hobby Plan | |
|---|---|
| Pros | Cons |
| ✅ Free forever, not a trial | ❌ 250 responses/month cap |
| ✅ Full API access, no restrictions | ❌ 1 workspace only |
| ✅ Hosted in Frankfurt (EU data residency) | ❌ No in-app onboarding flows or checklists |
| ✅ No credit card required | ❌ Formbricks branding shown |
The Bottom Line: Hobby gives you an ongoing survey program at zero cost, with full API access that Userpilot doesn't offer until you're already a paying customer.
Formbricks Pro Plan: $89/month (or $74/month billed annually)
Captured August 15, 2026 from formbricks.com/pricing.
| Feature | Details |
|---|---|
| Price | $89/month, or $74/month billed annually ($890/year) |
| Workspaces | 3 |
| Responses | 2,000/month |
| Added Features | Unlimited seats, attribute-based segmentation, remove branding, all integrations |
Pro's $89/month rate is roughly a third of Userpilot's Starter tier ($299/month), for a platform where surveys are the core product rather than a bundled feature.
| Pro Plan | |
|---|---|
| Pros | Cons |
| ✅ Roughly a third of Userpilot's Starter price | ❌ Cloud deployment only at this tier |
| ✅ Advanced survey logic included, not gated to a higher tier | ❌ 2,000 response cap (overage available) |
| ✅ Unlimited team seats | ❌ No onboarding checklists or resource center equivalent |
| ✅ Published, consistent monthly and annual pricing | ❌ 3 workspaces |
The Bottom Line: Pro delivers dedicated survey depth at a fraction of Userpilot's entry price, with no website-vs-third-party pricing confusion.
Formbricks Scale Plan: $390/month (or $325/month billed annually)
| Feature | Details |
|---|---|
| Price | $390/month, or $325/month billed annually ($3,900/year) |
| Workspaces | 5 |
| Responses | 5,000/month |
| Added Features | Teams & access roles, quota management |
| Enterprise Add-ons | Feedback unification, AI topic labeling, custom dashboards, 2FA, spam protection |
The Bottom Line: Scale sits well below Userpilot's Growth tier ($849/month) on price, while adding roles, quotas, and AI-assisted feedback unification.
Formbricks Self-Hosting: Community and Enterprise Editions
| Feature | Details |
|---|---|
| Community Edition | Open source, free, unlimited surveys and responses |
| Enterprise Edition | Contact us, adds SSO (SAML/OIDC), multi-language surveys, whitelabel, support SLAs |
| License | AGPLv3 |
| Data Control | Data never leaves your own infrastructure |
No self-hosted or on-premise deployment was found on Userpilot's site. Formbricks' Community Edition is free, open source under AGPLv3, and puts your data entirely on your own infrastructure.

Feature Value Breakdown
Entry-Level Pricing Accessibility
Userpilot's Approach: Cheapest plan starts at $299/month (or $249 per G2's listing), with no forever-free tier.
Formbricks' Approach: A permanent Hobby tier with 250 responses/month and full API access, no trial deadline.
Value Verdict: Formbricks wins (brief rating: Userpilot 2/5, Formbricks 5/5). A free-forever entry point beats a trial-only flow for teams that want to test before committing budget.
Onboarding and In-App Engagement Depth
Userpilot's Approach: No-code onboarding flows, checklists, tooltips, banners, and a resource center are Userpilot's core product strength.
Formbricks' Approach: Survey-first, with onboarding flows outside its core scope.
Value Verdict: Userpilot wins (brief rating: Userpilot 5/5, Formbricks 2/5). If in-app onboarding and product-adoption flows are your primary need, Userpilot's purpose-built tooling is the stronger fit.
Survey Depth as a Standalone Need
Userpilot's Approach: Surveys are a feature within the Starter and Growth tiers, gated behind "advanced in-app surveys" at the $849/month Growth level.
Formbricks' Approach: Full survey logic across website, in-app, link, and email channels from the free Hobby tier.
Value Verdict: Formbricks wins (brief rating: Userpilot 3/5, Formbricks 5/5) for teams where surveys and feedback, not onboarding flows, are the actual job.
Self-Hosting and Data Residency
Userpilot's Approach: No self-hosting option found on Userpilot's site.
Formbricks' Approach: A free, self-hosted Community Edition under AGPLv3, plus Formbricks Cloud hosted in Frankfurt.
Value Verdict: Formbricks wins (brief rating: Userpilot 1/5, Formbricks 5/5) for any buyer where self-hosting or strict data residency is a requirement rather than a preference.

| Self-hosting | Not offered | Community Edition, free, self-hosted |
Who Should Actually Pay for Userpilot
Userpilot makes sense if your team wants one platform for no-code onboarding flows, product analytics, and in-app surveys without engineering involvement, and you're comfortable with a $299+/month starting price for that bundled scope.
As an illustrative example, a Series B SaaS company might use Userpilot's Growth plan to run onboarding checklists for new signups and layer NPS surveys into the same workflow rather than running surveys as a standalone initiative. This is a hypothetical scenario based on Userpilot's stated tier structure, not a documented customer case study.
It's a weaker fit if you want a forever-free entry point, deep standalone survey logic and reporting is your primary need, or you require self-hosting or strict data residency.
Userpilot Pricing FAQ
Final Verdict
👍 Userpilot is the right call if you want one bundled platform for no-code onboarding flows, product analytics, and in-app surveys, and you're fine with a $299+/month starting price plus paid add-ons for session replay and mobile engagement. Reviewers consistently praise its ease of use and support, and G2 lists it as a Leader for 8 consecutive seasons.
👉 Formbricks is the better fit if surveys and feedback are the actual job, not a feature nested inside an onboarding suite, and you want a free-forever tier, full API access from day one, and a self-hosted path Userpilot doesn't offer at any price. Every tier is published with consistent monthly and annual pricing, no website-vs-third-party gap the way Userpilot's does between its own page and G2.
The honest read: these solve adjacent but different problems. If you need bundled onboarding and product analytics, Userpilot does that well. If you need a dedicated feedback management, feedback analytics, and workflows platform starting at $0, see Formbricks' current pricing here.
