What Is Outgrow?
Outgrow was founded in 2016 by Randy Rayess and Pratham Mittal, originally growing out of VenturePact, a software development service the pair ran together. Mittal co-founded Outgrow while studying at the University of Pennsylvania, building the product around the idea that personalized, interactive content, quizzes, calculators, and assessments, converts better for lead generation than static content, for both B2B and B2C use cases.
Outgrow positions itself as "a tool for creating quizzes, assessments, surveys, polls, contests, chatbots, product recommendations & calculators that generate leads." It's SOC 2 Type II certified and hosted on AWS.

How Outgrow Works
Interactive Content Types. Outcome quizzes, assessments, polls, calculators, eCommerce recommendations, chatbots, forms/surveys, giveaways, and landing pages, 9 distinct types across its plans.
Formula and Logic Engine. Math formulas including log/power functions, if-else and nested conditionals, outcome mapping, and logic jumps, the technical core that lets a calculator produce a personalized result rather than a generic one.
Analytics and Tracking. Lead data, user responses, traffic info, Facebook/Google pixel tracking, and, on the Business plan, user/question funnel analytics.
Integrations. Native integrations including HubSpot, Salesforce, Mailchimp, and ActiveCampaign, plus 1,000+ via Zapier. Marketo, SAP, and Eloqua integrations require an extra add-on fee even on the top Business tier.

Where Outgrow Falls Short
Feature-Gating Behind "Small Business Incentive" Add-Ons
- Several core features (advanced analytics, custom branding, HubSpot/CRM integrations) are only available with an additional negotiated incentive even on paid tiers, per the pricing page's own footnotes
- A G2 reviewer specifically complains about paying extra for advanced analytics after already subscribing to a paid plan
Very Limited Free Tier
- The free plan only supports Form & Survey content, none of Outgrow's own signature quiz or calculator types
- Capped at just 4 content pieces and 100 leads/month
A Steep Pricing Cliff
- Essentials tops out at $95/month (annual); Business jumps to $600/month, more than 6x higher, with nothing published in between
Performance and Learning Curve
- Interactive content can be slow to load on weaker internet connections, per G2 reviewers
- The learning curve for advanced logic and formulas is steep for new users

What Reviewers Say
Outgrow holds a 4.7 rating across 332 reviews on G2. Reviewers consistently praise the user-friendly interface and exceptional, responsive customer support, along with the platform's ability to turn static content into interactive quizzes and calculators without requiring coding skills.
The recurring criticism: advanced customization and analytics can feel limited on lower tiers, and some features require an additional fee even after subscribing to a paid plan, a pattern one detailed reviewer traced directly to Outgrow's "small business incentive" gating language.
Formbricks: An Open Feedback and Experience Management Suite
Outgrow is a lead-generation content platform, quizzes, calculators, and chatbots designed to convert, not a feedback tool. Formbricks takes a different approach: an open source feedback and experience management suite built around feedback management, feedback analytics, and workflows and integrations.
Feedback Management. Formbricks unifies website surveys, in-app surveys, link surveys, and branded email surveys as the core product, with full survey logic available from the free Hobby tier rather than gated behind "small business incentive" add-ons.
Feedback Analytics. Every response flows into one dashboard, with individual response tracking, aggregate views, and custom attribute segmentation, included at every tier rather than reserved for the top plan.
Workflows and Integrations. Formbricks Workflows automate what happens after a response comes in, with native integrations to Salesforce, HubSpot, Slack, Google Sheets, and Notion through webhooks and a free, unrestricted API on every tier, including a self-hosted Community Edition Outgrow doesn't offer.

Feature Value Breakdown
Interactive Lead-Gen Content Depth
Outgrow's Approach: 9 distinct interactive content types, including scored quizzes, ROI calculators, and chatbots, with a full formula and logic-jump engine, is Outgrow's core differentiator.
Formbricks' Approach: Not offered. Formbricks has no quiz, calculator, or chatbot content types.
Value Verdict: Outgrow wins decisively. This isn't a close comparison, and it isn't meant to be, they solve different jobs.
Experience Management Depth
Outgrow's Approach: No NPS/CSAT program templates found on outgrow.co; this isn't Outgrow's category.
Formbricks' Approach: Purpose-built for feedback management, feedback analytics, and workflows as the core product.
Value Verdict: Formbricks wins decisively for teams running a structured feedback program rather than a lead-gen quiz funnel.
Pricing Transparency
Outgrow's Approach: Tier prices are published, but several features are gated behind an undefined "small business incentive" condition, a pattern a G2 reviewer directly complained about.
Formbricks' Approach: Every tier's features are published as included, with no negotiated-incentive language to navigate.
Value Verdict: Formbricks edges ahead on transparency.
Free-Tier Usefulness
Outgrow's Approach: Free is limited to basic Form & Survey content, excluding Outgrow's own signature quiz and calculator types entirely.
Formbricks' Approach: Hobby includes full core survey functionality and API access at no cost.
Value Verdict: Formbricks edges ahead for teams that want to evaluate the real product on a free plan.
Who Should Use Outgrow
Outgrow makes sense if you're a marketer building lead-qualification quizzes, ROI calculators, or product-recommendation funnels for a B2B or B2C sales motion, you need SOC 2 Type II certification, and you're comfortable with a usage-tiered, leads-per-month pricing model.
As an illustrative example closely modeled on a real, verified G2 reviewer's account, a B2B accounting-software marketer might build an ROI calculator quantifying the cost of manual bookkeeping, embed it on landing pages targeting practice owners, and route qualified leads into HubSpot for sales follow-up.
It's a weaker fit if you're evaluating this purely as a customer feedback or NPS/CSAT tool, since Outgrow isn't built for that, or you want full-featured functionality on a free or entry-level plan without hitting "small business incentive" gating.

👍 Outgrow is the right call if you're a marketer building lead-qualification quizzes, ROI calculators, or product-recommendation funnels, and you're comfortable with a usage-tiered pricing model and SOC 2 Type II certification.
